Water is the most important resource. ICROSS continues to work with communities to provide safe water in Kenya. Danny Ngwiri shared the Solar disinfection activities with other stakeholders this week in Nairobi. Together with other Kenyan NGOs working to improve access to clean water ICROSS this week met to plan the expansion of safe water programmes in Kenya and East Africa.
With over 25 years of experience in improving local community water, ICROSS continues to play an important role in developing effective ways to reduce water borne disease and the quality of hygiene and sanitation. As part of this long term commitment ICROSS teams met with chiefs and community leaders last week as well as NGO partners sharing practical ideas to fight water shortages and improve existing access to contaminated water.
This week we are sharing more about our SODIS programmes at an International meeting of SODIS research. As part of our long term collaboration we are building a network to help share improved ways of providing water in poor areas. Water remains a cornerstone of effective development programmes and we continue to work with the poorest communities in working towards safe water for everyone. We will be providing presentations on our water projects that can be downloaded from the site.
The International Director renewed ICROSS committment to working with communities in improving safe water supplies. " We will continue working through the local traditions, values and structures in partnership with communities. ICROSS is committed to long term change and building the future together ".
