18/03/2010 - Mobile clinics launced in Ilkilorit.

ICROSS public health teams are launching this week new mobile outreach clinics to Ilkilorit communities affected by two years of drought. ICROSS and Ministry of Health nurses will be working together in providing nutritional support, mother and child health and immunisation as well as primary care. This mobile outreach is planned to last 6 months until the Ministry of Health can secure nursing staff for Ilkilorit. The programme will be led by chief medical officer Sylvia. The first outreach clinic starts next week. Sarune Ole Lengeny, who had directed the development of Ilkilorit public health programmes was with community leaders this week planning the new mobile clinics. The official opening of the Ilkilorit clinic is scheduled for later this year. International Director Michael Meegan and the Country Director Danny Ngwiri, said that they're also hoping to provide solar power at the new clinic.

Welcome, thank you for coming to our web site.

ICROSS began its activities in 1978. We aim at providing long-term assistance to the nomadic communities of the sub-Saharan region. We act as a catalyst and all our projects are run and owned by the communities we serve. We work to improve health and living standards using their own culture. We work within a five-year strategic plan. This was developed with the Ministry of Health in Kenya and sets out long term goals.

Remember, you have the power to change tomorrow.

Dr. Michael Elmore Meegan - Founder and International Director ICROSS.
