08/03/2010 - March 8th is International Women's day.

March 8th is International Women's day. It is a " global day celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of
women past, present and future
",

For ICROSS International women's day is an opportunity for us to recognise the many women who work in ICROSS and run our programmes.  Most of the volunteers, interns, community leaders and project heads are women.
Most of our programmes work closely with our wide network of women's groups and  community based organisations.

International Women's day  is being marked by recognising the dedicated  heroism and committment of our partners and teams.

We are celebrating Motherhood, enterprise and learning in the communities we are serving. Our Mother and child health programmes have been the centre of our public health work for over 25 years.  All over the World the 8th March is marked and in many countries it is a national holiday. The extraordinary  work  being provided by women taking the lead and initiative is happening in every home,  village and town across the World.  Please look at our Annual report for details of our  Womens projects and activities. 2010 is going to be an exciting year of new challenges and chances to work towards equality and opportunity.

Welcome, thank you for coming to our web site.

ICROSS began its activities in 1978. We aim at providing long-term assistance to the nomadic communities of the sub-Saharan region. We act as a catalyst and all our projects are run and owned by the communities we serve. We work to improve health and living standards using their own culture. We work within a five-year strategic plan. This was developed with the Ministry of Health in Kenya and sets out long term goals.

Remember, you have the power to change tomorrow.

Dr. Michael Elmore Meegan - Founder and International Director ICROSS.
