Following this week’s workshop ICROSS updated programme
teams on the latest WHO web platform for data and statistics and synthesis for information it also updated teams on the latest international prevention measures including Malaria prevalence and the historic launch of malaria vaccine pilot studies. This initiative was launched at the end of April in Kenya, the most significant Malaria prevention strategy of recent decades.
ICROSS has distributed over 150,000 long lasting insecticide nets since that initiative began in 2010. We are seeing enormous progress but have no complacency. In 2017 we plan to buy a new mobile health prevention 4WD and will begin fundraising for this vehicle which will cost £150,000 pounds this will be part of our latest community health drive working with the Ministry of Health in our extended malaria prevention. The existing vehicle needs replacement as it is 10 year old.
